About Us
My name is Jon Mauro, and I am the President and founder of Footballplays.net. In cooperation with my business partner and father Al Mauro, we have created a website designed for football coaches of all levels. My football resume began as a football participant. I played high school football at Pittsburgh Central Catholic which is one of the top high school football programs in the country. Also, I am a former college football First-Team All-Conference player. After college, I wanted to find a way to keep football a part of my life. It was at that time, I began coaching youth football. In using my father as a valuable resource in my early football coaching career, I was able to achieve immediate success. My father and I constructed football playbooks together that I was able to utilize with kids of various talent levels. My players were able to easily understand our offenses and learned a lot in the process! My players felt like we were using the same plays their heros were using on TV every weekend. I hope our playbooks can help you the way they helped me!

Al Mauro was a former college football stand-out at North Carolina State University. In addition, he possesses 35 years of football coaching experience in the Western Pennsylvania region. For those unfamiliar, Western Pennsylvania is renouned for producing some of the country's very best high school football teams and players. Legendary players such as Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana, and Dan Marino all began their football careers in Western Pennsylvania. Most recently, the Western Pennsylvania region produced Pittsburgh Central Catholic, the 4th ranked high school football team in the entire nation per MaxPreps year end rankings. In addition, Western Pennsylvania has produced the #1 ranked high school football recruit in Terrelle Prior of Jeanette who is headed to Ohio State.
Years of real-world coaching experience have allowed Al to learn what works and what just looks good on paper. Al Mauro's aggresive coaching style has always won favor with his players. Al's players always knew his intense competitive spirit and extensive knowledge would put them in the best possible position to win games and achieve personal success.
